So...I saw some Whooping Cranes today.

So...I saw some Whooping Cranes today.
Two of them about 200 yards away in reallllly good light. Close enough to see their bands when they took off. They are too young to nest, but one local birder said she saw one carrying nesting material. Another group saw them dancing. I wish I could've seen all that...but man, what a great bird. I'm satisfied. Its just amazing that with so few of them in the wild they show up 20 minutes from my house.

I got the Whooping Crane in Aransas which is the cheater's way I guess. :-)
