My boys loved it! And, the penny at the end really puts it all in perspective.

Until I sold my house this spring, I had hummers who nested in my garage every spring. A tiny little nest, built in a roll of chicken wire hanging from the rafters. For years, I left the garage door open for the entire nesting season, as there was no other way in or out. Learning to fly was fun; the youngsters "practiced" in the garage until the day they finally flew out into the sunshine.
They were black-chinned hummers, but I rarely looked that closely into the nest. I saw the eggs, but never did see the newly hatched youngsters. Too easy to get dive-bombed by an angry mom while I teetered on my ladder!
I haven't set up any feeders to attract hummers here in my new place; that may not happen until next year, since I'm really caught up in repairing this old "fixer" and trying to get unpacked and set up this summer.
Thanks for sharing the pics.
