Does anyone know if you are allowed to include your spotting scope in your carry-on luggage when you fly? I'm somewhat concerned that the TSA folks are going to ask me to check it, and I don't want to risk that. I'd really like to have it with me when I fly to Massachussetts next week.

without any problems. if they give you crap about it, talk to the supervisor.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES CHECK YOUR SCOPE.
a lost or broken scope could ruin the trip.
what kind of scope? :D

I've got a Leica, and I'm not leaving my scope to the vagaries of the baggage-handling system.
