Advice for next week's training |
|
I'm running my first 5K on Saturday, 5/21.
This week and last week, I've been running at least 2 miles a day, except for once or twice a week when I run 3 miles.
As for next week, I'm thinking I should run 3 miles at least one day next week. But what about the day BEFORE the race? Should I run a regular 2 mile jog, or even less... just to make sure I'm not tired?
What do you all think?

1. Most of the research I did indicated... |

that you should take it pretty easy the day before the race. Most suggested a rest day or some light work, walking or whatever.
I'd suggest that maybe you could get up to 3.5 miles or so in the longer runs in the week leading up to the race. This may give you a little extra something that you'll be reaching for in that final half mile.
Good luck.
