Going to get back at it starting tomorrow. |
|
With the kids going back to school, and having to pick one up at 3pm it's juggled my work out time somewhat, but I really need to get back it. The thing is, and I'm not making excuses, my work schedule is from 3am-Noon. I actually really dig those hours. I spend more time with my kids then I normally would. I have time in the afternoon for kids appointments, my own as well other miscellaneous things including getting dinner ready. I usually get home around 12:30 or so and the first thing I want to do is take a nap. Normally I would crash for a couple hours, but I am going to try to only nap for an hour at the most, and then do my workout. It will be just before I have to pick up my daughter at school. That gives me about an hour and a half. Should be plenty right? I will admit great frustration after working out "religiously" for a month and not dropping an ounce of weight! The other thing is, eating dinner with my family at 6 or so..I go to bed at 7pm(read with daughter until 7:30 or so), it's like eating a meal at 10 or 11 at night and going to bed. So....I will also try and eat early, not nibble at dinner time to try and help matters as well. Ok....having said all that, I do hope to try posting here regularly again, trying to keep myself honest!

1. Have you tried exercising before the nap? |
|
Before I started riding my bike to work for exercise, I found that if I hopped on the elliptical or home gym as soon as I got home and got the workout out of the way, I'd actually get it done. But if I sat down first, I was a goner.
Even if you just committed to 15 or 20 minutes at first while you adjust to the new schedule, it's better than nothing. And you might find out that you are energized enough that you don't even need the nap. I often commit to a short session and find that once I get started, I'm happy to work out longer. But if I had insisted to myself that I must do the longer workout, I would have found a way to avoid it all together. Oh, these mind games!
Good luck!
