I have three protruding disks in my neck |
|
I got my MRI results back today.
One is pretty serious, the other two are not as bad. I have an appointment with a neurosurgeon tomorrow to find out what options I have.
I really want to avoid surgery, obviously, but if I have to have it, that's the way it goes. I hope it doesn't slow down my exercise too much. I've been doing really well working out with this new trainer. I have lost almost 13 lbs. in six weeks and feel great (other than the pain in my neck).

That sounds serious. Best of luck with it. Hope you can manage without surgery.

This is all from that car accident you were in? That's terrible!
I'm so glad that your exercise regimine is working out for you. I honestly don't know how I'd get through the week w/o mine, and it's nice to know I've got company.

8. I go in for an epidural cortisone injection on Tuesday. |

We're going to start with that and I'm going back to physical therapy (I have missed the past two weeks while waiting for the MRI results). Hopefully that will help somewhat. If it doesn't, surgery is definitely in the cards.
I spoke with a man in the waiting room who had the same surgery two weeks ago and is doing very well. By looking at him, you'd never guess he just had surgery on his neck so recently. He told me a bit about his recovery and said he was very glad he had done it. Obviously, it would nice to avoid it altogether.
I've been very pleased with my results working out with the trainer. She does a great job keeping me motivated. Now I have to lay off weights but I can keep up with cardio, etc., until my neck feels better. Thanks for asking. :)
