I haven't been able to work out for two weeks now. |
|
I'm having so much trouble with my neck, I'm wearing the neck brace almost all the time now and the neurosurgeon thinks I have a condition called Trigeminal Neuralgia. I've had horrible non-stop headaches, numbness, among other things.
I have to get another MRI (this time on my brain) in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, it sucks not being able to work out, especially during the holidays when it's stressful. (I've also been working six days a week at my store, just to add to the fun.)
All I've been able to do is some gentle yoga, which is better than nothing. :(
I miss posting in the daily workout threads. :(

I hope that the docs are able to help you past this ailment (for more reasons than just getting you back in the gym).
Maybe you can try some exercises with the power band stretchy things, just to keep the muscles active. They're pretty much based on physical therapy methods, anyway. Ask your doc, first.

2. Wow, have you tried acupuncture? |

It may not work long-term for your particular condition but I have had a lot of luck with it for immediate pain relief. Good luck.

When I had metatarsalgia, it was impossible to do weight-bearing exercises, so you have all my sympathy.
I don't know what else to say other than I hope you recover soon and can start posting your workouts again.

5. Yikes.... that sounds scary. |

I know how you feel about not being able to work out. I am missing it very much and have been terribly frustrated by this entire hernia ordeal.
This morning I was bemoaning the fact that I may need another surgery. Now I see your post and feel silly about my complaining.
I hope you're better soon.
