My gf gave me the coolest Valentine's president |
|
She gave it to me early because she was so excited.
2 90 sessions with a former member of the Romanian Olympic swim team.
To support my goal to do the NYC Triathon in 07.
91 lengths in the gym pool is the Tri length - right now I'm up to 48, so learning how to do the flip when you get to the end of the pool is going to be key, and hopefully I'll learn lots of other helpful techinques as well.

3. So I had my first session with the former Olympian |
|
and found out that I've been doing several things wrong. Mostly breathing wrong.
I was comfortable taking a breath every time I'd come around with my right arm. As soon as I'd turn my face back into the water, I'd exhale. WRONG. You're supposed to hold the air until you come up for your next breath.
also, the teacher recommended breathing on every third stroke, so you alternate right and left. I'm so used to to my right side, every time I roll to my left I start to sink.
so it feels like starting from scratch since I have all these bad habits to get over. But it will hopefully make me a more efficient swimmer and eventually a faster swimmer.
i have one more session then I'll just work on what he's thought me.
