Well, back in the gym again after a long layoff |
|
We're talking months here.
So, I went back in my gym again yesterday and today. Cardio both days. I saw a pic of myself in the locker room as I was changing clothes...UGH. I've probably put on at least 20 lbs.
I figure cardio is a top priority. I'll work with weights, of course. I want to do strength training. That's just as critical as cardio. Both are important. However...if I have a layer of fat (and let's say that that layer is a very roomy coat), how am I going to see any muscle.
I definitely have my work cut out for me. But this is very important...I deal with depression. Getting in the gym and working out will only help me with my depression and self-image.

I too, have tangled with bipolar depression for 30 years. I find exercise absolutely invaluable for managing the illness. I exercise to stay sane and the rest is just a bonus. I can have an absolute shit day, but when I leave the pool, I feel at least normal if not good.
