HIIT and other activities?
I have a question and I haven't been able to find a good answer.

If you are doing High Intensity Interval Training, is that the only aerobics you do? Or do you do calmer activities like walking on your "off" days?

I'm just curious because It seems I can do regular aerobics or I can do HIIT but not both.

I did a HITT session on Wednesday, and I did regular aerobics yesterday (40 minutes of moderate elliptical), 30 minutes of mild walking.

After that, I came home and promptly took a nap. :P

Today it's time for another HITT session, and I usually rest on the weekends.

More info about HITT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-intensity_interval_training

1. If I were to do some form of HIIT routine
I'd also participate in some form of cardio activity on any "off" day.

3. Supernova, have you heard of metabolic resistance training?
Here's a very advanced, intense session.

Obviously I would need the very, very, very beginners sessions. :P

4. No, MRT is new to me.

Is this like HIIT with weights? That's what it appears to be.

Yeah, I'd need the beginner's workout too.

I found a trainer lady with a beginner's routine:

This is not an easy workout. If you have never worked out before, start a little slower
Try this -
Beginner workout

Circuit #1
1. Push-up, 10 reps
2. Bridge, 10 reps
3. Squats, 10 reps
4. Lunges, 10 reps
Rest 60 to 90 seconds and repeat

5. Yeah, it seems to be one of the latest crazes. Supposed to be great for over coming
insulin resistance by quickly tearing down/rebuilding muscle cells. Though I understand that's also the theory behind HIIT.
