We have a terrible tyranny at our local level, Dems leaving enmasse to Republican. We can overthrow the tyrannt in charge no matter what we try.

Today, the local chair conducted an election in a manner that disenfranchised about 30-40 dems by not letting them vote in an election.

1/3 of them are talking about switching to Independents next week saying the Repukes are too corrupt but the Dems are not much better.

Someone said there is a trend of people switching to the Independent Party. What does that mean besides unhappiness?

1. A three party system?
It almost seems that if enough people switch to indpendents, you might have the independents turn into a weird, morphed, crazy, tentacle, oozing crazy thing...

Either that or just a lot less Democrats and Republicans with a Democratic majority in Congress

2. In my county, the party chairmanship is viewed not as
a throne, but as an affliction that we pass among ourselves. I narrowly averted getting stuck with the chair last month, & ended up as 2d vice chair after they assured me that the position has no constitutional duties.

3. that's funny! I guess our party chair uses the title at the state level
and with Senator Reid to get more money for her non profit and that's why she clutches it so tightly. But we have less than 3,200 Dems on the county rolls now after a recent purge and we live in a county with a population of 50,000. Guess what everyone else is? Obviously our chair isn't doing anything about that.
