Just Finished Reading "Justice League: the Tornado's Path" |
|
I just about blew a load. Brad Meltzer is a fucking god. I fell in love with him when I read "Identity Crisis", but "Path" was even better. I can't WAIT for the "Lightning Saga". I haven't picked up a comic in over 10 years, but this guy grew up with MY Justice League, and it feels like he's writing it just for me. I honestly don't know what's better: Meltzer on JLA, or Joss Whedon's work on Astonishing X-Men.
I keep trying to get out, but they keep pulling me back in!

1. Really? I thought it was some of his worst work. |

Didn't find the Tornado's path story compelling at all.
Whedon's stuff on Astonishing is indeed awesome though.

2. I'm a Sucker for the Red Tornado |

He was always one of my favorites. Once I got past the admitted nonsense that Reddy would have his powers in a human body, I was sold. The story just about broke my heart!
I'll admit, though, that my favorite parts were the Big Three voting on new leaguers. I also really enjoyed the way Vixen was written; she's a character I never cared for in the past.

3. Yeah, I did like the interplay between the big three |
|
That's really the meat of any Justice League story anyway. Wish there had been more of it.
