Pelosi vows "media shield " law
Pelosi vows 'media shield' law
By Sean Lengell
October 5, 2007
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi promised a gathering of newspaper editors yesterday that her chamber will vote on a bill to shield reporters from being forced to reveal their sources in federal court by the end of year, despite opposition from the Bush administration.

"Freedom of the press is fundamental to our democracy," said the California Democrat during a speech at the Associated Press Managing Editors annual conference at the JW Marriott Hotel in downtown Washington.

1. Yeah, and she vowed...
"no more blank checks for the Iraq War," too. I can't hear what she says for the noise created by what she does (or doesn't do).

5. Is that the best you got?
I'm tired of you no-brains making judgments about me based only upon my user name.

If you think that you have anything worse to say about Rush Limbaugh than I do, guess again, starting with checking out one of my earliest posts linked in my sig. Over these years, I have built a solid liberal reputation here.

Please read some of my other 2,460 messages before shooting your keyboard off again about where you *think* I'm coming from. Get to know more of who I am and where I come from before making your judgments based upon what YOU think my username means.

4. memo to nancy pelosi:
you are full of eloquent words to criticize bush, the war in iraq, the veto on the schip program for children and on ad infinitum ... but when it comes to take action, or stand up behind your words ... well, the only words you've stood behind were your campaign words, "impeachment is off the table." ... so don't make more promises that you are not going to come through with. change course on the "impeachment off the table" words and begin to do what is right. it is great to moralize about someone else when you yourself are doing the same exact thing that you are criticizing another for doing.

6. We used to have a "media shield law." It was called the U.S. Constitution.
But that, of course, is so pre-9/11.

9. I'm wih Pelosi on special circumsances only
I am of the opinion that in cases of criminal suspicion, there is no justification not to hand in info about sources. But to give them up for the sake of giving them up, is a bad idea to me.
