I just got in and ..... Read the news today oh, boy ...
Edited on Sat May-24-08 12:40 AM by Botany
About a lucky man who made the grade
And though the news was rather sad .... (Lennon/McCartney)

I was busy w/ work and then drove to pick up my son for what I want to be one
of the best weekends of his life .... when I got in @ 12:20AM and read the "Hillary
Story" I went numb with shock & anger.

<"My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere
in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California.
I don't understand it," she said, dismissing calls to drop out.>

There is no excuse .... no apology ..... no f***ing thing that can happen from Hillary or
her people outside of getting out of the race and getting out of the Senate and never
ever showing her face in public again. She is a lawyer and should know better than to
ever say anything so awful .... or in other words; "I'll hang around in case Obama is shot and the party needs
a person to jump in." That is exactly what she was saying.

1. Tell it to the supporters who still cling like desperate barnicles to the hull of the USS Hillary.
They would say that all she was talking about was primaries lasting into June, and "shame on YOU for thinking any different!"

In short, there is no waking them up.

I am sure glad I never disbanded my Ignore list. It just keeps getting bigger every day...despite all the granite pizzas.

2. I don't get it either
I don't understand why she would bring that up, more than once. And especially when you consider the death threats Obama has been getting. Or that he's an inspirational type of candidate like Bobby or JFK. She made a big mistake. I can say it's a mistake. But it implies some ugly stuff, it's low. Very low. And if she can't see that or her supporters can't see that, that's a problem. I love Hillary, been mostly neutral on these last two candidates, but yeah, she did imply that she should stick around in case Obama is shot. It's awful. Maybe I just have to believe it's a mistake. But whatever it was, it's unforgivable.

3. Team Clinton .... people don't understand
... of what Hillary said about Kennedy and the primary.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/05/23/clinton.comments...

Clinton's campaign manager, Maggie Williams, told CNN's Wolf Blitzer that people may have "misinterpreted what she meant."

"It was clear to anybody watching her this afternoon that she was ... deeply regretful, and people did not understand the context in which she made this reference, and so I think that she immediately, as soon as she could, spoke out to express her regret for ... perhaps the way that she had spoken or the people had misinterpreted what she meant," Williams said.

Clinton made a similar reference to Robert Kennedy in a March interview with Time magazine Managing Editor Richard Stengel, saying she could not envision a scenario in which party leaders would step in and call for the race to end.

"I think people have short memories," she said then. "Primary contests used to last a lot longer. We all remember the great tragedy of Bobby Kennedy being assassinated in June in L.A. My husband didn't wrap up the nomination in 1992 until June. Having a primary contest go through June is nothing particularly unusual."

4. Time to bring Samantha Power back
She was prescient. Hillary has indeed become a monster, if she wasn't before.

6. I was taught it wasn't classy to mention political assassinations
but then Hillary's not that kind of a girl, obviously.
