Fellow Jews, do you consider this offensive?
"The Jews refuse to worship a human God out of a sense of false pride. They consider their blood line to be superior to all others. The notion that other races may in deed be as close to God as they are is unacceptable. They disavowed Jesus because he came for all of mankind, not just Jews. They are, as soooo many cultures are, in error. But to error is human and inevitable. Pride is a two edged sword. The Jews must lean humility, sooner or later. It will come."

So, fellow Hebrews, do you consider the above statement about our people offensive? If you do, try to guess where I found it.

Just to state my personal view; yes, it is offensive, and it is also factually incorrect.

1. Yes
It is very offensive and does the same thing it claims the Jews do...it considers it's revelation is superior to all others and it is based in false pride that this belief is true and therefore, one who holds such belief is superior to all others.

As you say, it is also factual inaccurate and confuses the term "chosen people" with something different all together. This is nothing more than a claim their religion (I am guessing Christianity) is superior to all other religions. And, like any such claim, is prideful and wrong.

2. I'm glad you agree.
Now guess where I found it. Hint: Not "Der Ewige Jude".

5. I am not surprised.
I am also not surprised the poster doesn't see his/her own 'sinful' false pride, arrogance, and discriminatory attitude. To me, that posts reads of classic "projection."

6. LOL We do believe he exists. He just wasn't the Messiah. ...
Why don't people understand that to accept Jesus as the Messiah is to denounce Judaism? I'm having a discussion about this right now on a parenting board, too. I keep referring people to Jews for Judaism's website.

We don't go around telling fundie Christians that if they don't immediately stop recognizing Jesus as the Messiah, they're going to hell.

8. The religion forum is a very scary place.
Sad, but I think the lurking DU Fundies gravitate there.

7. I'm not even a Jew, and I find that offensive.
BTW, I'm a Buddhist (former Roman Catholic), but my father's side of the family was Jewish before they fled Europe for America in 1939.
