Please remind me not to read I/P
Things are very tense in Israel now. I don't think they need American liberals stirring up more anti-Semitism and I don't need the hypertension. But if any folks here have the intestinal fortitude and knowledge to refute the anti-Isreal screed, please do. It is tough enough holding yourself to a higher standards without everyone else doing it too.

1. I agree
This is one of the few things I disagree with most of DU about. I have no idea why most of DU supports the Palestinians and attacks the Israelis. I was just reading some of the posts and I was getting so angry, that I had to stop.

2. Don't read I/P!
:hi:

Don't worry dear! Our people have survived over 3000 years of hate, discord, and animosity, I think we can handle a few "keyboard commandos."

I understand the hypertension, though. The other day I was about to go through the roof. After a little time away, I was able to bring myself to the conclusion that one cannot change the mind of someone filled with hate. However, what is important is to challenge lies, half-truths, deceptions, strawmen, and not be bullied. I used to write in I/P against other posters, foolishly thinking I could get them to see the light, now, I write so that others, like yourself, can see. I figured it was better to write for you all, than for them.

The saddest thing is I don't think there can ever be a real discussion, with the exception of a few people, because of all the propaganda. The worst are the "drive by" posters with their spewing of hate for Israel. Those are the ones that tend to disrupt the thread. They know little or nothing about the conflict, all they know is that they are supposed to hate Israel. There are a few there who are actually pro-Palestinian and not anti-Israeli, but that is the exception, not the rule.

Just remember, there is a difference in hating Israel and hating Jews. Although sometimes the two meet, it is not always the case. If you see a post that you feel borders on Jew-hating...ALERT!!! I have found, though, sometimes an explanation is needed when alerting on borderline posts.

Be well! Shalom!

3. I was just in there
And actually, aside from one complete ass, I didn't think things were all that bad. I mean, the people on the other side were making their usual "case", but I didn't see anything alarming or out of the ordinary. Well, as I said, aside from one jerk who even got jumped on by the pro-Arab side.
