How many pills do you take? This is related to my previous post, |
|
but I think it can be a serious issue for a lot of us. I have a daughter who I think is developing lupus. I'm trying to get her to add a fish oil capsule to her regimen, but she is embarrassed to be taking so many pills and is reluctant to try this. I think a lot of autoimmune diseases and depression are tied in part to mal-nourishment and think that additional vitamins are an important part of treatment. Between prescriptions and vitamins, I end up with a handful, but it works.

it was a dozen for a while, but it is now 18. i think you are right, but find what nutrients, and at what levels takes some work. one example- my youngest has chron's, which leads to deficiencies. her iron is a little low, not a lot. but enough to give her restless leg. which wrecks her sleep. which makes her depressed. i am sure many such convoluted pathways exist.

3. I've tried and discarded a number of supplements to come up with |
|
what works for me. It's gotten so if I run out and don't take one for a week or so, I notice the difference. (Why am I waking up a couple of times a night...oh yeah, I ran out of the calcium/magnesium tablets.)

5. The empty stomach one is like this |
|
Keep the pill and a glass of water next to the bed when you go to sleep. Take the stupid pill the second you wake up, then give yourself 15 minutes to be lazy in bed. It's lovely.
Then get up and make the coffee.
The inhaler is breakfast and supper. Yummy.
We always timed pills to coincide with the real world, to be taken according to the client's usual daily activities. Most drugs are forgiving enough to be timed to mealtimes and bedtimes. It was better to be flexible on timing and know that the pill would be inside the patient than to be rigid and know the patient would miss them now and then.
It's only in the hospital that we'll wake you up in the middle of the night for a blood pressure pill.

6. i usually take it when i get up to pee, |
|
whether i am getting up then, or going back to bed. fosamax is too much of a pain, but i can't do that- supposed to be sitting up. the a.m. one is that purple pill. i hope it is a little more forgiving. i could take it before dinner, but i just hate adding something to my day that way.
