1. I've been watching all the computer runs on 90L |
|
They keep changing and the storm is about 10 days away from any US threat so the accuracy right now is iffy. However the islands are only about 6 days away and should be watching and preparing.
Many of the runs have it going through the islands and through south Florida and into the northern Gulf. Last runs went to Texas the ones before that were Florida panhandle, I think.
It will probably be a depression by tomorrow sometime. I think there is quite a bit of consensus that this will be a player.
I'm also watching the NW Caribbean because there is something about to form up there as well and move into the gulf. What effect this would have on 90L, I don't know. I think we're looking at Dean and Erin, but which will be which depends on which develops quickest.

2. This evening (Sunday Aug 12) the low is totally gone from this site. |
|
On Saturday, Aug 11, the 8 day forecast showed a low system (hurricane?)hitting Florida on Aug 20. I guess that goes to show that weather predictions can be fickle that far out.

3. It's still out there and may be a TD tonight. |

http://euler.atmos.colostate.edu/~vigh/guidance/http://moe.met.fsu.edu/tcgengifs/Those runs take it to the islands. After that, who knows? http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/nwprod/analysis/carib/gfs/18/model_l.shtmlThese are the GFS runs. Day Nine looks particularly spooky. However further on, they run it to Texas. It's just too early to tell.
