Feeling as though I've been kicked in the solar plexus
i can breathe now

but still regaining my ability to take in a full breath. (no, not a physical thing, this is a figurative thing I'm speaking of)

The tools of the program work. I know that I would have a hard time dealing with a lot of things, and the things that my own addictive nature creates for me in my life to some degree are amazingly stupid sometimes.

God grant me the serenity,
to accept the people i cannot change :grr:
the courage to change the people i can,
and the wisdom to know it is ME.

I can only change myself. I cannot change another person. I cannot MAKE them do anything they don't choose to do.

The only problem I'm having with this is convincing myself that another person didn't really feel about me, the way I thought they did and believed they told me they did.

so, life ticks on, one day at a time!

shit, trudging the road again (of happy destiny)

:D

1. Hugging you
I know how you feel: things didn't get any better when I stopped drinking.

I got better when I stopped drinking. And so did you!

9. Tis True!
I did get better, and consequently the events in my life changed from dealing with where my next drink was coming from to the good things in life today.

I have changed, I'm still an alcoholic and could surely destroy everything that has come to be by drinking, but I have changed, and the world is still the world. Other people are other people.

thanks

5. Drunk of sober, loss was a big issue with me.

It took many years of sobriety and lots of outside help for me to
finally handle loss, real or imagined, with a sense that everything
worked out for the best.

After much use of the third step I came to realize that when one
person or job left my life that it was because the old HP had
planned for something better to come into it.

Much love to you.

6. That sucks, Southpaw.
That human, free will thing is highly overrated.

I'm sorry you're in so much pain.

But I'm glad you're here, writing about it and
sharing it with others in recovery.

I hope this helps.
