calorie counting is finally starting to get me to loose some wgt
I found this calorie calculator that takes in your age, weight, height and exercise level and then spits out how many calories you should eat.

http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm

In the past week I have lost 4 pounds by counting all my calories.

I keep a little log of what I eat during the day and how many calories I had.

Finally I am seeing some results.

1. Fantastic, LSK!
Keep us posted and stay motivated. :D

I use the FitDay.com site to keep tabs of everything I eat and I am having positive results too for the first time in ages.

I'll check out the site you use as well...

5. oh I love Fitday!
I used it a few years ago for a little while and loved it, but then I lost all my Favorites links when my old computer died and after I finally got a new puter I couldn't remember the website name ever since. So thanks for mentioning it! :)

4. I started keeping a log of what I eat daily
Edited on Thu Aug-03-06 10:49 AM by LSK
Just a simple list in notepad of the food and the calories in it and then I total it up for the day and write the total on a calender.

For example today so far:

Oatmeal = 200 cal
Juice = 120 cal

Yesterdays total was 1720 for the whole day.

11. Thanks for posting it!
I gained a lot of weight this year, and I tried a reduced calorie diet to lose weight. I read this week that those can mess up your metabolism, so... it'll be nice to know what I need so I don't cause any problems. :)

12. update
Well in September I got down to 189. For a day or so.

I kinda fell off the diet a little the past 2 months. I was only half on it. I got up to 195 again.

But the past 2 days I am back to strickly counting those calories. Im hoping to get back down to 190 by Christmas.

Glad I didnt gain too much back.

13. It's so easy to 'fall off' isn't it?
I wish you much success with getting back on the wagon. Christmas and holidays were always hard for me because I just cannot say NO to the food laid before me. Don't reduce your calorie intake so much that you start to feel deprived of 'good stuff'. Don't allow yourself to get overly hungry. Don't 'save your calories' for those times that you'll be feasting at home or with friends. A good idea for not eating too much when you go out is prior to leaving home, eat a light, very light low cal snack. You won't have the urge to over eat once you get there, and, if they are late in serving dinner or whatever you won't be starving by the time you get to the table.

Best wishes to you on this very bumpy road that we all travel, you're certainly not alone.

Merry Christmas to you and yours.
