People actually think that since men and women get together and have relationships, we overcome the hypocrisy of language and the 'whys' of language history. Then, once they've ignored that, they-- and sometimes "they" are the very same ones who complain about, say, how Fox news presents stories-- go on to ignore the power words and language have. Especially when it comes to women.
