In terms of political content, women are diverse enough this might not have a big effect, but in terms of focus, it must have some effect. I began reading this page to read Lars Erik Nelson.
Two black men representing 13% of the population comprise 20% of the writers.
I read this paper a lot because I like it, but it really strikes me that in this day and age in such a high-profile newspaper, there are no women writers.
Sherry Ross used to write the hockey page in the NYDNews' sports page and I really liked her. She's now doing color commentary for the NJ Devils radio broadcasts.
