and say hello to the plethora of DU'ers who suggest that 'it's not that bad' and that nominating an anti-choice advocate for SC is just peachy. Especially since this asshole is 50 years young, giving him decades upon decades to run rampant over women, minorities, the envinroment, just to name a few.
But see, honey, it's okay. You need to look at the BIGGER picture. See, we need to let this one go and save our fight for the BIG war. Of course, election 2000 wasn't big enough, nor was election 2004. Valerie Plame..oh, it's nothing. Neither is the fillibuster, and neither is USSC nominations. There's gonna be a time when we have to fight, and now is NOT that time. Because, ladies, you see, it's just YOUR rights to obtain an abortion, or fill your birth control prescription, or even get a prescription to begin with. It's okay. It's not a bad deal, really, when you look at it.
We've got BIGGER fish to fry. We'll get around to YOUR issues at another time, on another day, when we feel like it. Maybe. If you're lucky.
You should be happy, though, you harpy 52% of the population, you. See, MEN aren't being compromised by this nominee. Nope. None of OUR rights are in jeopardy. MEN don't get an abortion, and according to many women on this site, shouldn't even have a SAY in whether abortion takes place or not. So we're not affected in any way, shape or form.
See, us men will still get sex, still impregnante women, still walk away from our responsibilities, cry foul when our privelege is pointed out, and remind women that sex is NOT mandatory, and that perhaps SHE should think about the future when having sex. If abortions were made illegal, what do we care? We'll still find reasons not to wear rubbers, we'll still find reasons to denegrate women who are raped and become pregnant. We'll still sit on our ivory towers and remind you that if you are a victim, it is SOMEHOW your fault, whether you realize it or not.
See, you ladies need to be THANKING men. IF it weren't for us, who would tell you what you should and shouldn't concern yourself with? Who would remind you that if you take a drink from a stranger, you really are ASKING to be raped or abused. If you continue to live in an abusive relationship, it's honestly YOUR fault for CHOOSING to do so.
That's what we're here for---to tell you what you can and can't be outraged about. We do it to the Blacks as well--you MUST LISTEN to what Bill Cosby has to say about race relations, but you must NOT get in a tizzy over slavery reparations. Gays are the same--hey, gay man, don't get all up in arms over Marriage. It's no big deal. It's divisive. Just wait your turn behind the rest of the line--we'll get around to considering equal rights for you right after...uh...right after we get tired of being at the top of the heap. Don't worry, though, it's only been like this for a short few thousand years. Your time will come...maybe in the next millenia...but it will come, if and when we allow it.
So, ladies, kiss your rights goodbye and kiss your husband hello when he comes home. If you don't have a husband, you should get one as soon as possible and then you can busy yourself with the REAL issues that should cloud your beautiful minds: raising children, cooking dinner, making babies, and above all, NOT bothering your husband with petty things like the right to medical privacy or equal pay ammendments.
Don't you gals worry your pretty little heads. Let the MEN take care of this, just like we've taken care of all of the petty, shitty issues you girls tend to concern yourself with. We'll do you right, as long as being wronged counts as right.
