OK, this might be a little lighthearted for this board
but speaking as someone who lives in the desert where there are few to no rest areas on the interstate and where cactus gives absolutely NO cover when you're caught short on the highway and get absolutely desperate for a pee, this item seems like a real lifesaver. All right, a cystitis saver: http://www.femalefreedom.ca/.

I'm going to order one for my next trip down to Mexico. It looks like it will work pretty well.

1. I used one of those for years when I was backpacking
and cross-country skiing and kayaking and rock-climbing. I did learn, briefly, to actually pee standing up without using an implement, but that takes practice. Like any skill, you lose it when you stop practicing it, but it is VERY possible for women to learn to pee standing - you just have to use your hands to direct the flow, same as men do, and you have to accept that there'll be some spillage (like a toddler) when you're learning. It's best to learn in the shower. Not a public shower, please! your own shower that you can then clean afterward! ;-)

There's a huge sense of freedom to learning how not to have to undress, squat, and pee on your shoes. Especially when I was x-c skiing, I fucking HATED having to get my naked butt out into the cold air just to pee.

3. I learned how to pee off the side of a moving sailboat
with no appliance, but the nearest boats were at least a mile away so they were unaware what I was doing hanging onto one of the cleats with my leg in the air.

The problem here is that cactus provides inadequate cover. One of those and a soda bottle and I could just stand next to the car away from traffic and do my thing.

I put in the order.

2. My girlfriend and I got those
when we used to canoe. LOL, you should have seen us trying to learn and actually get it over the side of the canoe without tipping over.

Go for it. Nothing is worse than having to go all the time and not being able to stop. I am a big water drinker and my family gets really tired of stopping for me. I should try to find it and then I can use a pop bottle too.

4. I'm glad I live where I can drop and squat.
I did that over some nettles once though. OUCH. Many moons ago......
It looks like a great idea.
