Let me be the first to congratulate the USA women |
|
They did their best, and BTW, Heck of a job Coach Ryan. The "Switch" was magnificent in heaping a ton of pressure on your defense and telling your attckers that you had no confidence in them.
I never like what I saw in the build up--and this is going back a year. The USA women have evolved into long balls and set pieces--kind of like England men. Ever since the USA brought in Cindy Parlow and then Abby Waumbach, they've killed the smaller teams with their size and cut up bigger teams with organization. But Brazil, and perhaps Germany this year are something else. The USA needs to look less at size and more at skill, speed, and cunning. And BTW, sorry, no 36 year olds allowed in a world cup final--period. That would not happen in the men's game. USA soccer, please regroup, and learn from this lesson.

2. Ok. no 36 year old keepers not in game shape and not in form |
|
I'll concede nothing else.
And another thing. No men coaching women. It worked for a while, but only shows what an amazing job Ryan'e predecessors did and what lack of competition those teams had. I'm a guyma and the more I coach teenage girls the more I realize that I don't want to do it much longer. It's too hard--you need a female who gets them (and gets them when they become women).
