So, ya think Favre is second-guessing himself now? |
|
Shoulda retired or demanded to be traded, Brett. If this game is an indicator of anything, the Pack is an absolute LOCK for the #1 overall pick next year.

1. There were a couple times |

when it looked like Favre was going to kill his O-line. Hell, I would have ripped them a new asshole at half time.
Did you see the shot at the end of the game. Favre was in the tunnel before it was even over. Very un-Favre like.
My prediction? Favre will be traded (at his request) before the end of the year. One of the contending teams QB will get injured and Favre will want to go there. He's still got a lot in him, but his team is basically crap and his O-line couldn't protect Favre against most D1 defenses.

3. I think your prediction is dead on. |

Packers' management, if they give a rat's ass about Favre, should step up to the plate and start inquiring. Force the issue - don't make Favre look like the whiner. Take the flak from the fan base and don't ruin the sunset of his career.
Strange thing is, not that you would ever deal a star player to a division rival, but if the Vikes didn't have the ultra-reliable Brad Johnson, I'd say Favre would be a perfect fit. Now THAT woulda been something else - Favre in purple.

He Sure Sounded Like It In The Post-Game Conference |
|
He was rambling and, at points, incoherent. He kept talking about "young guys" and "young team" and "whoppin' it up", and he never actually made a point.
I know he's a pretty sharp guy, so i think the frustration is already boiling over. He took a BEATING yesterday. Not just the 3 sacks. He got knocked down 12 other throws. (Saw that in the paper today.)
He seemed pretty despondent. The Professor

TWO ROOKIES? And a 3rd-year inexperienced center? Good grief, it's a surprise he even got passes off at all. Being a Vikes fan, I've always cheered against him & the Packers (except when they played the Cowpies), but even I don't think he deserves to finish his career like this.

Of course, being a Bear fan, i enjoyed seeing the Packers get trounced. By the team i root for!
But, Favre has been cool, has been superb, and is a gunslinger QB in the mold of Johnny U, and Sammy B. He deserves better. I just can't bring myself to feel bad for a Packer. The Professor
