Who can win the national championship? South Florida?!?!?!?! |
|
I was a student at UGa in 1980 for an undefeated season with an "average" team and a good defense and some luck that won the National championship. UGa played "good" but not "great" teams and simply kept on winning. Hershel was a freshman, but unknown.
UGa 16 Tenn. 16 UGa 42 T A&M 0 UGa 20 Clem 16 UGa 34 TCU 3 UGa 28 Ol Miss 21 UGa 41 Vandy 0 UGa 27 Ken 0 UGa 13 USC 10 UGa 26 UFL 21 UGa 31 Aub 21 UGa 38 GTech 20 UGa 17 ND 10
Sounds Familiar!!!!!
USF 28 Elon 13 USF 26 Auburn 23 USF 37 UNC 10 USF 21 WVa 13 USF 35 FAU 23 USF 64 UCF 12
Who knows what will happen if USF beats Rutgers, UConn, Cincy, Syracuse, Louisville and Pittsburgh? Certainly seems possible.

1. If they run the table, they will be in the Championship game, but against who??? |
|
It seems that BC has an easy schedule and can run the tables too. So do two unbeatens with "weaker" scheds get teh nod over teams like OSU And LSU with a loss. I think they should.

I'd love a national championship with a couple of the "lesser" powers for a change. Its been too many years of no surprises. This year is great. Its all surprises.

4. WVU will play OSU in the national championship game |
|
WVU (6) will eventually move up from their current #7 to #2 in the BCS as they win out the rest of the season. This Saturday they'll beat Rutgers (25), and Virginia Tech (8) will upset Boston (2). That will give my Mountaineers a chance to move up to #5 in the AP and Coaches' polls.
OK I'm out on a limb here but that's just what college football is like, particularly this great season. If I'm right, this will make the fourth straight week the #2 team fell.
