range top. It practically eats cooked on greasy food right off the glass top. It is very effective, and only takes a little bit of the cream of tartar. I don't know if it is more financially efficient to clean this way, but those nonscratch glass top cleaners are pricey, too. And I don't have to worry about harmful chemicals.
I'm going to try it on grease spots on clothing.

I bought a half gallon of that commercial cleaner at Costco about 5 years ago. Diluted down and in a spray bottle, it's good for most jobs. Diluted only half and half with water, it's paint remover.
It should last me another 10 years at least.

PS...
white vinegar is about the most versatile liquid ever. I love it
:)
