9. what's this "lining of a good suit" caca?

i don't appreciate metaphors that cast gente as less than integral to the whole. i'm not the pinche lining of nothing. i'm part of the fabric, i'm the cut, the style (zoot suit: "i wanted to look like a diamond"). but don't say i'm made of whole cloth, verdad? otoh, the lining of a good or cheap suit is hidden away, absorbing the sweat and stink of the power dresser.
