Melanoma patients? My dear friend is in trouble and I am so worried.
He is the most wonderful man. 45 and strong as an ox.

Had a very deep melanoma carved out of his back two years ago.

Last week, he went in to his doc for general fatigue and they found a mass on his liver.

He is scheduled for a liver biopsy and brain scan on Wednesday.

This is a great guy. He had a rough period in his life when he was a heroin junky and an alcoholic. He's been sober and clean for 20 years and has risen through the ranks of our state AA organization. He has helped hundreds of people to lead clean, sober and good lives.

This is a good man and I am sick about this news.

Could the liver mass be a fluke? Benign? I guess we'll have to see.

Meanwhile, any good vibes you can send to this man would be most appreciated. He deserves it.

1. Beausoir, I'm so sorry to hear this news about your friend.
I'll be keeping him in my prayers and sending good vibes. He sounds like a wonderful man.

In the meantime, here are some websites about melanoma. Maybe some of them will be of some help to you and to him:

http://www.melanomasupport.org/

http://www.mpip.org/

Also, this is a great message board (I belong to the bladder cancer one):
http://listserv.acor.org/archives/melanoma.html

This book, "Surviving Cancer," by Margie Levine, has been very inspiring for me as well. http://www.amazon.com/Surviving-Cancer-Margie-Levine/dp/0767907159

I have a good friend who was diagnosed with melanoma 12 years ago and was told to get her affairs in order, that she wouldn't make it. They removed a bunch of her lymph nodes as well. Well, she is still here and healthy today. All my best to him and to you.

2. I am adding him to my list
of those I'm holding close. I'll hold him as 'dear friend of Beausoir.' This list is getting far too large and I'm holding out hope that the liver mass proves benign. Please let us know.
