I had a breast biopsy earlier this week |
|
As I was sitting in the waiting room a tiny asian woman came in crying. It seems the surgeon they had referred her to wouldn't take medical coupons. I teared up myself at the indignity of it all. The nurses were very good to her and promised to intervene with the surgeon. She apparently needs this particular surgeon. I couldn't believe that people are reduced to begging for lifesaving treatment because they have medical coupons.
Good news--my biopsy was negative for cancer, but I'm a little uneasy about what would happen if I lost my job.

1. I'm so glad to hear of your results. |

I know your wait wasn't easy; it's tremendously stressful. Hopefully, the nurses were able to run intervention for the woman you mentioned. How awful for her!

2. Yes, I felt like a thousand pounds had been lifted off my shoulders |

The nurses are really good at that center, they called me as soon as they had the results so I didn't have to make a trip to the hospital. I can't get that woman out of my mind. It just seemed so inhumane to not want to treat someone because of medical coupons.

3. May I ask what the findings were that led to your biopsy? |
|
I'm having one done on Monday.
