Attention all DU Deaf & HH posters - check in here (roll call)
I'd like to know who still checks in here from time to time. I am going to make some more effort to recruit a lot of us to this forum.

Who are you, and your real first name (if you choose) - and what languages you know.

Hawkeye-X (David) - Born Deaf, knows English and ASL (with French (intermediate) and Hebrew (read only) )

2. Hi!!!
I just found you guys .. I am emily, I have two brothers, one who is deaf and one who is HH. Both went to the Iowa School for the Deaf.

I use ASL, and have been known to make some colossal mistakes in my signs from time to time. :)

Before learning ASL, my brother who is profoundly deaf used the Bell system of lip reading, but it was not effective for him.

His world totally opened up with sign. :hi:

3. So much going on in the political world
I am HH, wear hearing aids, and I speak English. I know enough ASL to cruise the cute deaf boys at the bar, but that is it.

6. Hi, I'm Mike
Had some sort of nerve virus when I was young that ate away the nerve in my left ear. The right is near perfect but it's still a struggle. I usually have to read lips while talking.

English only.

9. Hi y'all
My name is Jen, and I was born Deaf, and communicate using ASL. I did however, grow up oral and at my current job, read lips and speak (and it's been a exhausting struggle, but I'll save that story for another post later). :) Hope to see more of y'all around here!!
