Not what I would expect her to be saying... you have to hear it with your own ears to believe it!

1. This only goes to show how acute the cronyism problem
is when a Bush apologist like Malkin can't even dismiss it.

Yes indeed. Worst president in world history.

27. Michelle Malkin should recognize cronyism, her family comes from the Phillipines
and Marcos practiced crony capitalism very well there in 3 decades.

Even a stopped watch can tell good time twice a day for about a minute.

8. your post is funny
its an attempt to bait a fight, or at least thats what it looks like. just exactly what were you getting at in your post ? what dont you buy ? the post or her making those statements? are you saying the poster is trying to legitimize faux news or that faux news is trying to legitimize itself ? cause id hafta say the latter. seems like ur accusing the poster of trying to do such. if thats not so, sorry.

9. Okay, thanks for the explanation.
Without accusing the poster personally, using Malkin in any reference is detrimental. If FOX made a regular talking head of Anne Coulter (if they haven't already, I don't watch) it wouldn't make her suddenly legit. Even if she criticized Bush on some point. That's what I meant. Not to bait a fight. But to question the use of Malkin in any context besides ridicule.

28. Yes, every once in a while.....
Malkin and Fox will do something sane, like this editorial. I believe the purpose is for Fox to have something to point to when accused of simply being a mouthpiece for the White House and the GOP.

What ever Fox's reasons are, I'm glad this Malkin editorial was broadcast. People who watch Fox need to see stuff like it.

6. Murdoch
The first sign of Rupert Murdoch smoothing the opposition, for when they are not the opposition anymore - and he knows the current Administration is on its way out.

It's a well worn tactic he has used in Britain, he starts small, eventually joining in with stories broadcast on other newtorks / in other media that go against the usual Faux News grain

Of course Murdoch does not "interfere" with his "news" outlets editorial policy - though how he says that and keeps a straight face always amazes me.

11. Makes perfect sense
I agree with the poster a few posts up. Murdoch, love him or hate him, is a genious. People think that he is just a Bush lover/supporter. Not true. He supports anything that will make him millions. Shrub's approval rating is in the toilet.

You have to remember how ratings are derived. Nielsen uses meters that detect codes inside the audio of the TV broadcasts. If he is losing audience because the Shrub is losing approval ratings, then he knows that he cannot tow that line any longer. If a few moderates or lefties tune into Faux news with some of these Malkin type snippets then it grows the audience. He would be smart to do even more and stir the proverbial pot.

Of course higher ratings translate into higher revnues for the network. The more people watching the more they can charge for commercial spots. End of the day...more money for Rupert.

Give credit where it is due. It was actually a decent summary of the problem.

Congratulations, Ms. Malkin. You may yet become a journalist.

26. Well, she does have a long way to go
First, she has to stop appearing on FoxNews, where journalism is expressly prohibited by Messrs. Murdoch and Ailes; and even if it were not in that context. she should stop subbing for O'Reilly.

13. hmmm...
Murdoch and the other megalomaniacs who own 85% of ALL media in the US make gazillions off the hate mongering they promote. They expose the fetid underbelly of a distasteful class of people eager for bloviating talking heads to legitimize their hate. These megalomaniacs care not a whit about the puling, sycophantic viewing audience except as a source of their wealth.

Corporatism will continue its explosive growth, using whatever means necessary (including the trite Michelle Malkin "attacking" Bush cronyism). Corporatists prefer GOP supporters, but have learned to use ANYONE effectively. Fortunately for us, the Internet is a HUGE monkey wrench in their works.

As long as We The People continue to swallow the bipartisan red herrings promulgated by the majority of our media and politicians, we will squander our collective energy on hate and fear, rather than finding solutions to the myriad issues we are facing at present. I'm a fix-it kinda gal, and prefer to interface with those who feel the same way. I'm proud to say I have colleagues from all political persuasions who want very much to pursue cohesion in addressing our nation's needs.

I'd sure like to see more advocacy toward cohesion on DU. We can't count on most of the NeoCons to pursue this, but it's right in keeping with our political stance.

You notice that even while admitting that Gonzo was an awful AG, they have to work in a couple of slams of the Dems?

Still, the rats are deserting the sinking ship.

17. ah, Harry Mudd
You say you are lying,
but if everything you say is a lie,
then you are telling the truth, but ...
you cannot tell the truth
because everything you say is a lie.
You lie -- You tell the truth --
But you cannot --
Illogical!
Illogical!
Please explain.
Only humans can explain their behavior.
Please explain.
I am not programmed to respond in that area.

She will return to her blog and argue against everything she spouted in this clip.

That these were all decent experienced people persecuted by the looney left.

21. This is a bit surprising...
But what she said had two very subtle points that were conveyed to me:

"the Democrats were on a witchhunt"

Couldn't refuse this one, could she?

"with cronies like these, who needs enemies?"

So she never actually said that cronyism is a bad thing, per se. She just said that these PARTICULAR cronies are detrimental, to which one might infer that Bush simply needs better cronies rather than take this as a statement that cronyism itself is detrimental.

24. Malkin's hypocrisy is humongous.
This little bitch who backed B*sh every which way from Sunday is now speaking out against him?
Why? Because, as it has occurred to the other rats leaving the sinking ship, what has she got to lose? She'll keep a tape of this and other attacks against Bush and when B*sh leaves, she will try to use that to get a new job, saying....."See, I never backed him. Look at all the things I said against him !!!!!!" BS :wtf:
