Dems: We reject this amendment, but Obama will use the exchanges anyway Grassley: Well that's presumptuous! Who's to say Obama will be reelected! *outrage* *SCQ claws face off* http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/03/24/AR2010032403127.html?hpid=topnews

2. Wow, that article kisses a lot of GOP tush. |
|
For one thing, in describing Grassley's repeal the $200,000 or above tax, when the amendment was introduced, Baucus swatted it away on the floor by explaining that passing the amendment guaranteed that about 5 million more people would not have access to health insurance (if memory serves me correctly; it was about 1:30 in the morning when it came up.)
The amazing, amazing thing that never goes away is that there is a contingent of stupidity out there that continuously elects complete assclowns like Grassley, et al. to represent them.
Just disgraceful all the way around.

5. It really was a GOP propaganda piece. |
|
Blah. I was disgusted by the whole thing. But Grassley's assiness was the thing that struck me most of all.

4. My favorite quote in the article, from Mitch McConnell: |
|
"Today, Republicans will give Democrats one last chance to reject the horrible impact the underlying bill and this last-minute add-on will have on our country," Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said Wednesday. "Unfortunately, we already know that they plan to turn the other way."
Ooohh... they're giving us one last chance...
