(Home Alone) President Barack Obama Celebrates Birthday Today |

President Barack Obama Celebrates Birthday Todayhttp://en.terra.com/latin-in-america/news/president_barack_obama_celebrates_birthday_today/hof10879Happy Birthday, Mr. President! Although Marilyn Monroe isn't around to seduce Barack Obama, he will have to find another way to enjoy his 49th birthday today.
It'll be a lonely birthday for President Barack Obama as his wife, Michelle, and their two daughters, Malia and Sasha, are away on different trips. The First Lady and Sasha are in Spain's luxurious Marbella and Malia is at summer camp.
President Obama will still have to adhere to a schedule on his birthday. Duty calls. He is traveling to his home in Chicago where he will visit a Ford car factory. Sources say he plans to later have dinner with close friends as well.
Age doesn't seem to be taking too much of a toll on Obama. He admits to having more gray hairs and a slower metabolism. This struck me as a good photo (taken yesterday) to include here. These young people can almost certainly look forward to brighter futures because a man named Barack Obama was born and decided to pursue the Presidency. Is that an over-the-top statement? For a moment I thought so, and then, thought of what these young people might be looking forward to had the 2008 results come to Pres. McCain/Vice President Palin. So, no, I don't think it's over-the-top to say that these young people are benefiting and will benefit in the future from so many of the policies Pres. Obama has championed and put into place. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BARACK OBAMA!

2. Thanks for your post; Obama points to the future. |

Maybe it's my creeping old age, but I identify more and more with the young.
It's inspiring to see the hope, faith and good cheer of these kids.

3. Thanks for posting this. Since he'll be sleeping in his own house... |
|
with Michelle & the kids away, you think he'll have a couple brewski's & walk around in his underwear? I sure would, and to top it off, I might even do a little indiscriminate scratching. How you like me now? HUH!

10. I got a thank you from the President for signing the card Michelle |
|
got him!~ :party::P :loveya:
Cha --
I want to thank you for signing my birthday card.
Michelle told me that she was planning something a little different this year, and I was overwhelmed by the kind words I received from so many supporters like you.
This job has a way of offering humbling moments. And the support you have shown me, time and time again, has sustained me through any number of difficult days. It is more than any president deserves, and I could not be more grateful.
On my birthday, I spent some time considering what the year ahead will bring -- a new set of challenges and opportunities, some that we can foresee and some that we cannot.
If we continue to stand together, I know we will continue to move America forward and win these fights for change.
Thank you again for taking a moment to sign my card. As far as birthdays go, it is hard to imagine topping this one. But then again, Michelle always has a way of surprising me.
Sincerely,
Barack
I bet next year is better..the BIG 5-0.. and why shouldn't the Obamas all go to Hawai'i 5-0? B-)

11. Actually, don't you bet |
|
he probably appreciates a little "alone" time - as much as a president can get such a think, anyway.

Can you just imagine looking at John Mc Cain and Sarah?
That is a visual my eyes do not need.
