Joke overheard while Walmart employee lay dying
Audio-enhanced chatter captured on a cellphone video posted on YouTube, along with interviews with witnesses, offers a hint. The video shows a police officer crouching by a 6-foot-5, 270-pound man lying at the entrance of a Long Island Wal-Mart. A paramedic pumps the man's chest so forcefully his limp legs and feet joggle. Shoppers peer in from behind glass doors, as others stand a few feet away, hands in pockets.

"They need to shock him," a voice says. The paramedic stops pumping.

The man's shirt has been pulled to his neck, revealing his large belly. A woman in the crowd mutters "pregnant." Another cracks a joke.

The women begin to laugh.

1. sometimes....
people say horrible things to not become overly distraught over a trying situation.... however. I'm not one of them.

Also, there are some people who are complete uncaring assholes, I'm banking on that guess for that moron who mocked his weight. She more than likely is obese herself. I hope she gets public shame somehow by being identified.

5. No excuses for this one...But why should anyone be surprised?
One of the witnesses said they were animals, or something like that. The very fact that people could trample someone over a hunk of metal shows their lower consciousness. I would even go as far as saying that anyone who would wait outside all night (on a holiday, no less) in the cold is a moran.

3. When I was in 8th grade,...
...a fellow 8th grader died suddenly. I didn't know him well (this was a catholic school in the Philly suburbs in 1970. There were 4 8th grades of about 48 kids each. He was in another room), but when the nun announced his death, I couldn't stop giggling. The nun, who was the best teacher I EVER had, saw the look of horror on my face as I was covering my mouth. She said nothing because I think she realized that I COULDN"T STOP MYSELF!

Most of those people were probably assholes, but a few may have had the same reaction that I did.

7. That is typical adolescent behavior. I gigled all through
Mass once and I still remember the reaction of the nuns 60 years later.

The more I tried to stop, the more I laughed. Glad to see that I'm not the only one.

4. People have no remorse...
This is no worse than the fact that the people who killed him in the first place were angry when the police were closing the store down, because they couldn't keep shopping.

Have we as a culture become so jaded and materialistic that getting an Ipod is the most important thing in our entire lives? I know that 75% of people out there are good, but how can the other 25% be so bad?

6. Walmart spreading money around to plant stories l
to make the crowd the center of the case and not Walmart's lack of security.
