A sad indication of how far right Obama has gone,
I decided to tune in a few minutes ago to see how badly Limbaugh was gloating.

He came out and stated that he too stands behind Obama's scolding lecture yesterday.

Oh boy, Limbaugh and Obama are now in agreement.

What a sad statement of where this administration has gone, and where it is headed.

85. And Rupert Murdoch threw a fund raiser for hillary
Instead of jumping on the "I hate Obama bandwagon"...let's look at the infrastructure. States and municipalities are beginning to show the rot in empty retirement accounts. It is the corporations and banks who are running the world. Why not draw all money out of banks and stop shopping . They have stolen from US, why support them? Obama is a distraction.

3. Anyone who expected him to be any sort of a leftist
simply didn't do his homework.

I knew what he was during the primary, which is why I couldn't support him. I didn't support Clinton, either, for the same reason.

I was hoping events would shove him to the left, but that hasn't happened.

We can hope he doesn't run in 2012 or that we can knock him out in the primary with some other corporate hack who has a little more backbone, but as things stand, that's the best we can do.

"a rare coinciding of agreement," not that Limbaugh and/or Obama were right. Sort of like saying, "The planets must be in alignment today" or "Hell has just froze over."

I have jumped on people before, finally learning to ask for clarification especially when it could be taken in a negative way that was unusual for that poster. Thank you.

See, if they started screaming about how he's a Kenyan Muslin Socialist after he's just given them everything they want, there's always a possibility, however faint, that he might finally wake up and actually start fighting, figuring that he may as well get hung for a sheep as for a lamb. This way, he can convince himself that he has finally achieved the Holy Grail of Bipartisanship.

44. Divide and conquer?
Find where the divisions are in the group that you are opposing and drive the wedge. Rush knows that the base feels betrayed by Obama.

The bottom line for me at this point is that it is up to Congress and the Senate to accept or reject the compromise Obama has put before them. The Senate had the chance to pass the proposal that ended tax cuts for those making over $250,000, and extending the tax cuts for the middle class. It failed because not enough Democratic Senators supported it. If the Democrats find enough votes to kill the current proposal in the Senate, the fight begins. When the fighting starts, will the base show up?

unless you seriously think that there's some law against an incumbent

As I've said, I haven't seen it --

Now, I note you've found another extreme -- the idea that an incumbent

might have a challenger.

And again, you make zero sense with the last part of your post.

And, again, I'll ask you ... do you think there is some kind of law against

an incumbent being challenged by a member of his own party?

What do you base your reaction on?

106. Where
the fuck did you get that "professional left" is made up of past conservatives? The most conservative remarks I see here are those from people blindly supporting Obama because of the "D" in front of his name. I think "professional left" in Gibbs & Obama speak is anyone who has asked him to live up to his campaign promises and stop the slide of the working class in this country. Most of the people on this board are probably in his definition of professional left since we post on a left wing board.

Yes, I was conservative up until I was 12 years of age - raised in a very red area with Republican parents. I had a US Government teacher who was a big lefty, started sharing ideas that were totally new to me, made me think for myself and I have been a progressive ever since. Somehow I don't think that's what you are talking about, although the so called fact of your statement is still very qustionable to me.

Throw in your bloggers like Ariana and you start to get the jist of what I'm talking about.

If you actually think anyone who posts on DU is part of the "professional left" you are sorely mistaken. I know many here tried to throw themselves into that category for the convenience of drumming up one more thing to express poutrage over, but they have absolutely zero to do with the "professional left" media and bloggers that the Obama administration addressed.

Democratic Party -- but that's because they call attention to the DLC acting

in its own corporate self-interests.

If the right wing were standing up to Limbaugh and Beck, I'm sure we'll all be

If Obama were standing up to the radical right rather than making deals with them

we'd certainly be "basking" over that, as well!

The White House's "professional left" that they are repeatedly striking out against

are simply those liberals calling them out for their pro-corporate agenda -- something

they evidently think they're hiding.

And wasn't it you who was just recently trying to smear Huffington for her Republican

Does it hurt yet?

To anyone who is paying attention, things look doomed. Fortunately for American capitalism, nobody is paying attention. They never have. Even given the unemployment numbers, foreclosures and bankruptcies, most Americans are still not feeling enough pain yet to demand change. Not that they will. Demand change, I mean. We haven't the slightest idea of any other options, outside those provided by the corporate managed state. So in a chorus well-schooled by the media the public demands "reform," of the present system, the systemic pathogenic system based on exploitation of the many by the few, the one presently eating our society from the inside out. How do you reform that?

We are clueless, and the state sees to it that we stay that way. Take the price of gas, about which Americans are obsessive. In one way or another, petroleum is the subject of much news coverage, nearly as much as pissing matches between egomaniacs in Hollywood or on Capitol Hill. So one might think that by now Americans would have a realistic grasp of the petroleum business and things like oil and gasoline prices.

Hah, think again! This is America, this is Strawberry Fields, where nothing is real and the skies are not cloudy all day. We're stewed in a consumer hallucination called the American Dream and riding a digital virtual money economy nobody can even prove exists.

He not only turned his back, he trashes us constantly because we aren't happy with his no spine, Repug pandering ways. And yes, he will pay dearly because most everyone who was passionate about him now has no motivation to work or donate to him anymore. If he thinks the Repugs will vote for him, that just shows how delusional he really is. Unless the country's economy comes roaring back, which isn't going to happen, or Palin is the Repug nominee, he has extremely little chance of winning. He did this to himself by his own actions. People don't want to vote for someone with no backbone and he has yet to exhibit ANY evidence of owning one. Makes Clinton look totally resolute in comparison, and that's sad.

139. Rush Limpdick
is NOT in agreement with our President!!! Rush gets to keep his healthy tax cut. Rush benefits Rush.He more than got a hefty bonus to say he agrees with the President because you know that the Conservatives know that will ANGER the DEMOCRATIC PARTY!!!!So they will continue to bash the President. By doing little shit like that. So that people will continue to dis-respect him and the office. I wonder why no one got mad when the Democratic Party had nothing to say and let the repugs fill every air wave they could about taxes going up. From Fred Thompson to Chuck Norris. Now everyone is ANGRY. What will WE be in January????

146. yes. i hate when someone ignores part of the equation to get the answer they want.
but yes, you are right.

we have dems fighting with pres which will be interesting to see what happens dems punching it out.

we have a group of repugs woking with pres, i feel, because they drew a line and they know they have to wiggle out of denying UI.

then you have teabaggers that hate every piece. the wealthy increase. the middle increase. and UI
