Obama's big mistake on the tax cut deal was ::::>>>> |
|
Obama's big mistake on tax cuts was to make a deal with the Republicans FIRST and then propose it to the legislature. THEN,,, the dems with integrity are forced to block the legislation and be seen as obstructionists, and get blamed if nothing gets done and the tax cuts expire.
If he had given in less to the republicans, and stuck with the democratic proposals to limit the tax cuts to middle class (which he said he would do in the first place), THEN the republicans would be seen as the obstructionists and THEY would be blamed if nothing gets done and the tax cuts expire.
Now, everything is bass ackwards... because of Obama's premature capitulation, the dems are going to get blamed. In fact HE is even blaming them.
What the?

2. What do you think our international allies must think.... |

Seeing Obama do this to members of his own party, going behind their backs to negotiate a very bad deal with the Republicans. Seems it would engender some doubt as to his veracity in dealing with foreign affairs as well.
Obama has a fatal flaw, I fear. Unfortunately, it may be come all of ours.

7. Exactly - he called a presser immediately |
|
before advising the leadership so he could outflank them. This was designed to box IN the Democrats. Also Summers double dip recession crap the next day was designed to keep the Dems on the reservation. This is the most amazing thing I have ever seen a President to do his own party when they held both the House and Senate.

4. If this had been worked with dems first and then pitched the right way he |

could have made the R's look and sound like fools and greedy assholes. The whole thing was done incorrectly IMO. To me, it was a complete cave-in.
