2. Shouldn't be...
One is 434 by 600 pixels at 72 dpi and the other is 650 x 562 at 72 dpi. I've never had problems with larger images opening here (although I try never to go bigger than 850 width)

3. It's beautiful --
you're very talented. My knitting is generally of the chunky and/or very small finished product variety lol.

Which yarn did you use, or is it handspun?

5. It's from Sarah's Yarns, 2 ply
45% Mongolian cashmere (I couldn't afford the 100% cashmere...much as I wanted it) and 55% silk in natural white.

6. I don't know that one.
I'll have to take a look-see and find it. :)

7. If I had been thinking straight, I'd have sent you the link
http://www.sarahsyarns.com/

With my order, she sent me sample cards on all the yarns she sells. She's got some really nice stuff. Limited color selection but if you buy one of the protein yarns (non-manmade fibers) they aren't that hard to dye yourself.

In fact, I've got some natural alpaca that I'm going to try Kool-Aid dying one of these days.

8. Nice!
I wonder if it's really Mongolian cashmere. Hard to find, but it's a far superior product. Oh, and for lace shawls, Galina Khmeleva always says that you need silk for strength when it comes to cashmere and cashmere-like fibers (like quiviut, etc.). It's probably better that you got the silk blend.

I have some green dye I used once. Easier than I'd expected, but I'd get a mask next time to really make sure I didn't breathe any in.

12. Try it. I was scared of it, too
but found that in a lot of ways, it's easier than Aran knits or Fair Isle work.

and cables are fun to me. i'm eager to try cables with out the cable needle. it seems do-able. however, i just finished a fair isle christmas stocking and decided that i don't like colorwork. too many tangling, dangling threads bother me. i have tried a lace scarf (nothing as intricate as your project), but i can't seem to stay focused enough to avoid errors and frogging!

have you tried entrelac? i just finished a lady eleanor and i like this technique.

14. With lace, stitch markers are not just a nice thing to have
they're essential. You only have to focus on one repeat, not the whole row.

Haven't tried entrelac but have a pattern for booties and will be trying it with the new baby coming.
