Knitting needle roll
Made it for my MIL last Xmas. The lining is velvet; the cover is silk. Got the silk for a ridiculously low price @ Joann's. I totally snagged the whole bolt. That stuff never goes on sale!

I don't think you can see the pocket details very well. There are 8 vertical pockets staggered across 3 layers. Plenty of storage for straight needles, crochet hooks and the like.

Thanks for looking!

:hi:

1. Very nice

I have a very old one, that I should replace. Maybe this will get me moving.

Cheers

2. So pretty!
And congrats on the great deal for your silk.

I keep knitting needles and tall crochet hooks in one of those cylinder containers and my short crochet hooks in a pencil case. Not nearly as creative!

3. That's beautiful
and you did a beautiful job!! I can't sew very well, so I'll have to buy one to go that route. I keep my in various vases I find here and there--not nearly as elegant as what you've made!! Very cool.

4. I was just thinking to myself earlier today that I ought to think about
making one of those. That's gorgeous. Did you find a pattern, or just make one up (as you went along or before)?

6. Thanks for the compliments
I was trying to figure out how to make one but Xmas was quickly creeping up on me and I had a ton of other presents to make.

I gave up and bought a pattern on www.TheKnittingSite.com. If I had more time I could have futzed around and figured out how to make one.

I have plans to make another one for my mother's birthday.

7. I love it!
Earlier this evening, I was organizing my knitting needles and I thought to myself, "I should really make a needle roll," and lo and behold, you have posted one! I think I am going to add one to my list of projects.
