The Open Veins of Wales - George Monbiot |
|
Interesting article by George Monbiot at: http://www.monbiot.com/archives/2008/12/30/the-open-veins-of-wales/It is ostensibly about Welsh railways, but touches on larger themes of what a nation's transport infrastructure says about it.

Having lived in North Wales for a time. I found it very annoying that I had to take a train through England to get to South Wales.
Also, I've been to and sung with our North American Welsh Choir at Tad Deiniol's church. I also sang with the choir at his promotion to Archimandrite at a Belorussion Orthodox church in Brooklyn, NY. He's quite the mover and shaker for Blaenau Ff.
