1. Public non-automobile transport. Highways and all they entail (road repair, police,

medical costs stemming from accidents and the non-use of the legs and feet, pollution control and mitigation, for starters) all rely on taxpayer subsidies to continue operation, despite their many inefficiencies and long-term negative consequences.

Legislatures need to see that building roads is not the only cost associated with failing to invest in better, cleaner, healthier forms of transportation.
