1. Have bought the very same item at the dollar store |
|
And she's selling only ONE and it's USED??? :eyes:
For my dollar, I got a pair, a file, and a cute see through case to keep them in.
Kind of doubt the seller will make a sale :P

4. This is one of those weird ebay mysteries |
|
I stumbled upon this sort of thing years ago and never could figure out if it was real or just a big joke or what. If it's real, then we know who that remaining 20% of Bush diehards are, because clearly there are severely disturbed people in this country.
I think that, if it is real, people do it via ebay as opposed to thrift stores, because of the anonymity involved.
What's really sad is that I have a whole bunch of old shoes that I would have donated to a thrift store long ago except that I keep thinking that maybe I should be listing them on ebay! I swear, even for people who don't have a foot fetish, I can't imagine buying used shoes - but yet, I also understand that if a shoe goes out of production and somebody really liked the style but wore theirs out, then ebay is pretty much the only alternative. So I have shoes from a couple of decades ago, lol, sitting in a box, awaiting the day when I have the nerve to list them.

5. I am absolutely astounded. I had no idea. |

All this time I've spent scouring the globe for good bargains on mid century stuff and pottery and I could have just emptied my closet of old shoes and slippers, lol. Seriously, I think there is a legitimate market for vintage footwear, but,I'm with you as far as the "yuck factor" of wearing used shoes.

That's almost as funny as the day I googled "rubber sheet" looking for a waterproof pad to put under my aged kitty cat at night. Do NOT google rubber sheet if you are shocked by kinkiness.

I wonder if this is some sort of seduction and you have to carry on some sort of "dialogue" with the bidders to keep them bidding. Otherwise, mama needs a new pair of house slippers... http://cgi.ebay.com/trashed-furry-house-shoes-worn-out-and-used-years-old_W0QQitemZ230269075729QQihZ013QQcategoryZ63889QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

16. We need to spread the word to the Goodwill folks |
|
and all of our thrift stores who are diverting our precious treasures to ebay -- let's tell them that their strategy is all wrong, that they need to be listing all those old shoes and undergarments (I'm going to assume there is a similar situation with those, but I'm not going to look) instead of those oil paintings and ceramics and pots and pans.
Maybe balance will be restored.

Maybe you bid on the (worthless) item and then get to pick it up personally?

|
Advertised as used underpants too. woo hoo. Takes all kinds I guess. I made a mint on seamed stockings that I bought by the crate at an auction. Sold a lot to guys. Gifts for their girl friends I guess.
