Question about depression glass...

I found TWO yellow glass Florentine No. 2 gravy boats today.
From all I've read, yellow was NOT one of the repro colors of this pattern, and yellow was one of the original colors.

Pitcher & tumbler sets in red, dark green, cobalt, and two different pinks have been made. None of these colors were originally made.


It has the flower pattern on the bottom, too.
Here's an online pic to show the boat (did not find the platter when I bought these today :( )
Kovel's lists these as worth $100/each. (w/platter would be $135)

QUESTION
Do some pieces of depression glass have seams.
I know that since so many of these were made as giveaways, pressed glass was pretty much the least exensive way to make these.

Anyone know re: seams?

1. Seams: Yes

I don't know much about Depression glass, but I know I saw lots of it years ago before the repros started. Lots of it had seams.

3. Finer quality glass of that era is considered Elegant....

meaning the mold seams are fire polished. Most 'depression glass' is NOT fire polished and you can see or feel the mold seams.

Good find on the Florentine, I have the covered butter dish that is very hard to find, in the apple green vaseline/uranium color.

I have quite a few of my grandmother's Fostoria Laurel pattern glassware that she bought in the 1920s.
Had just read about Elegant Glass yesterday while researching Depression Glass info.

But, much appreciated to know that info.
Kind of like testing if pearls are real or not by rubbing them on your teeth: If rough, they are real, if smooth, they are not.

7. I agree and once you feel it you will never forget it. A big glass collector

passed that little nugget on to me.
