How much did Alaska lose to ebay in listing fees, etc. |
|
when Palin put that airplane on ebay? I think I heard yesterday that the plane did NOT sell on ebay, but I would think it must have been pretty expensive to list something like that, wouldn't it? Seems to me that was wasted money for the taxpayers of Alaska. Of course, it is a huge benefit for Bush-McCain-Palin to use for their campaign talking points.

2. I just went to ebay and tried to figure it out. I think I read that she put it on ebay |
|
for $2 million, so I took one of my unsold listings and priced it at $2,000,000. The insertion fee was $4.00. That can't possibly be right.

You reminded me how to find the answer. I went ot ebay's alphabetized list of help topics and looked at insertion fees. It says anything listed beginning at $500 or more costs $4.00 in insertion fees. So unless their policy is a lot different for the airplane category, my question is meaningless.
Thanks for your assitance!

What is it, 8.75% to list something beginning at 99 cents? Jeez! How much would 2 million cost at that rate? Am I right in thinking it'd be over $160,000?
On edit: Never mind, again! I double checked and that 8.75% is final value fee. A 99 cent listing costs 10 cents for media, 15 cents for other items. So that's actually worse at 10% and more!
