Bonanzle: First sale today! |
|
I put up about 600 listings on www.bonanzle.com early this year and haven't had any action at all, until today, when I sold a $40 vinyl record.
I hope this is a sign of good things to come.

4. I sell antiques and collectibles. |
|
Usually I stop selling on ebay after Christmas because it really slows down for several months for me. This year I left a few things on as "forever" listings and it looks like that's what they're going to be. There is, of course, the possibility what I've got is crap. My antique shop booths are doing okay, though. It makes sense if you sell on ebay to also sell in a group shop so you have a place to market things that don't get anywhere on ebay.

5. I think I'm going to have a few "forever" too! |
|
I only have about 20 or so antique glassware items. There is a local antique shop that I'll check with to see if I could sell on consignment. It is hard because I don't know anything about antiques. Besides a few individual pieces, I have a whole set of cobalt blue dishes to sell and I don't know how that will be if I sell on Ebay re: lots of heavy boxes. It has been a little fun trying to research stuff : )

6. Sad Irony on this sale |
|
The buyer had trouble getting his payment to work on Bonanzle. By the time I emailed him back (like 2 hours later) he'd found my original listing on eBay and bought it there. So eBay gets the fees, not Bonanzle, even though he found it thru Bonanzle.
If these sites are going to take on the Big Dog, they need to make it easy--easier even--than eBay.
yikes.

I wish there were a few alternatives to Ebay. Hopefully they can make it better.
