I really didn't find Wanda Sykes very funny

but I don't dare say that OUT THERE. There were a couple of good moments, but the rest was inappropriate and just not funny. They should just do away with this horrible event.

Obama was outstanding, but I wasn't surprised by that.

I just needed to vent and didn't want to get involved in any wars in GDP and GD.

1. is it worth watching any of it?

I had to get to bed early so I could get up extra-early this morning for the drive to Syracuse. Is any of it worthwhile? I don't know if I'm sad Biden was left out of the attention or glad he could enjoy a trip up here.

2. Obama was really good

There were jokes at Biden's expense, but in this context it wasn't offensive. Lots of people were victims, just like at a roast - Summers, Geitner, Rahm,etc. I cringed throughout most of Sykes delivery.

except maybe the terrorist one. Did you waterboard him? No we just asked him about the weather.
That was pretty good -

but I thought Obama's jokes about Biden were totally uncalled for. The audience didn't seem to like them either.


I'm the opposite of you Pat. I thought Obama was flat and that Wanda was funny.
She really crossed the line tho. Limbaugh deserves it.

5. Maybe in a comedy club,

her routine would have worked, but at an event like this, I thought it was too much. Saying she hoped Limbaugh's kidneys would fail was more an Ann Coulter type remark and makes liberals look as mean spirited and nasty as ultra conservatives. Calling him a terrorist was too Palin-like.

I think one Biden joke would have been sufficient and agreed the one about the weather was good.

I really don't care for roast-type humor. It is too mean and serves no useful purpose. I don't think this is an appropriate venue for the president of the United States.

9. I really don't like this event at all

Bush's WMD debacle was hideous and Laura Bush's little bit about Desperate Housewives and milking a horse was so embarrassing. The rest of the world sees these clips and it makes us look really tacky.

Maybe they should have comediennes like Jeff Foxworthy - or other people like that.

she could have pulled this off in a comedy club atmosphere, but not a few feet away from the President of the United States. I have no problem with being critical of Rush or making fun of him, easy enough to do and more than appropriate. I thought her Hannity joke was hilarious. Just leave the "terrorist" accusations and death wishes for the crazies on the other side.
