Okay, I'm watching tonight's Colbert Report in Iraq |
|
and Colbert is interviewing the Deputy Prime Minister. Colbert says, "So you're essentially the Joe Biden of Iraq?" The Deputy Prime Minister smiles and says, "Do I want to be that?" AND the crowd, our U.S. military, BOOED!!!! Yay!!! Colbert quickly said then, "I think so. I think so" and his guest said "yes, yes", and the crowd cheered.
Not everyone is buying the media crap.

2. I don't watch Colbert regularly |
|
but his shows from Iraq are brilliant.
I am so proud of those soldiers. They know how many times Joe has been to Iraq and what a great advocate he has been for them. Not to mention that Beau is in Iraq.

3. Same here! I'm only recording Colbert because he is in Iraq. |
|
Haha - you and I are so much alike in so many ways :)
Last nite when I was watching I was wondering if Beau was in the audience.
ok - I'm going to watch right now.

be a cameo appearance by Joe :P!
on edit - which means he just might have watched last nite. That Kurdish deputy prime minister guy also said that Biden was his good friend, after he made that joke. Did you catch that? I felt better when I heard that because Joe has done so much in that region.

6. I had just started watching it |
|
when I first posted. I had no idea Joe was coming up. Colbert really put a lot into these shows and drew a lot well known people. It is great to see someone put a focus on Iraq for a change. I hate the fact that those soldiers are so easily forgotten. Colbert could be attracting another Emmy.
I missed the "good friend" part. I'll have to go back and watch that segment again. I was listening for the audience's reaction.

8. Colbert definitely should get an emmy for this. |
|
He is doing an excellent job over there and you can tell that the troops really love him doing his show there.

Colbert was on the cover of this week's Newsweek and he was "guest editor", putting yet more exposure to Iraq, not to mention funny as hell.
I am so impressed with him right now!

I got my new copy of Newsweek yesterday and Colbert is on the cover. He also is the guest editor for this issue. He draws more attention to Iraq and does it with humor.

I couldn't believe the Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister said that. I missed the "good friend" part too.
