1. That is NOT what he said.
He said that we do not have the right to dictate to another sovereign nation, and beyond that - he wouldn't go there.

I get so sick of these people who overreact. And ANSWER is known for doing just that.

2. Yup. It happens here all the time but we know better and know to check facts
first.

3. Is this correct?
Seems that the NUANCE is getting us again, eh?

'Vice President Joe Biden signaled that the Obama administration would not stand in the way if Israel chose to attack Iran's nuclear facilities, even as the top U.S. military officer said any attack on Iran would be destabilizing.

Biden's remarks suggested a tougher U.S. stance against Iran's nuclear ambitions. Nonetheless, administration officials insisted his televised remarks Sunday reflected the U.S. view that Israel has a right to defend itself and make its own decisions on national security.

In an interview on ABC's ''This Week,'' Biden also said the U.S. offer to negotiate with Tehran on its nuclear program still stands. Some thought the administration's approach might change in light of the Iranian government's harsh crackdown on protesters after the June 12 presidential election. Opponents of the ruling authorities claimed the vote was rigged against them.

''If the Iranians respond to the offer of engagement, we will engage,'' Biden said.'

4. Did anyone besides me watch the interview?
Because that is not what I heard.

What I heard is him say...in so many words.... is that we don't have the right to tell another nation what to do and what not to do, and when Steph. wouldn't leave "Even if nukes are involved", Biden said he would not speculate.

I think we all know that this administration is not going to just sit there and let a nuclear war break out. This all seems so petty...especially since recently Biden told Netanyahu he better not go there (guess Joe doesn't practice what he preaches).

I'm curious to hesr how other non-journalists interpreted his words...ya know - people like you and me that aren't trying to sell a story?

About Iran - he did say we would still engage depending on preconditions.

What I found interesting about his interview wasn't his comments on foreign policy - it was how clueless they were
with the stimulus package...and how many times Steph brought up when Joe didn't agree with Obama...I wondered how Steph knew.

5. No, they just read the headlines. DU is becoming like Huff Post.
Sensational headlines and false info from questionable sources. How many times have stories been misinterpreted here only to come find out they are not true or half true? I posted the info about what he said in April out there but it will probably never be answered because it does not fit the meme. We are becoming like Free Republic and it disturbs me...very reactionary.
Of course, there is a big contingent on this board that is STILL unhappy Obama won and they wanted Dennis K. or some other candidate to win. I don't get it. We already had a primary and a GE. LOL.
All I do know is that I have been spending less and less time here and plan to spend even less if people here are not even going to read the facts first and read what people in this administration actually said instead of jumping to conclusions. I am pretty tired of "Obama is already a total failure" and my favorite from yesterday "Joe Biden, our party's Dan Quayle". Quayle could not have been trusted to go to Iraq or any of the other things Joe does. Its just getting out of control and I am not finding this place that enjoyable anymore. I noticed that there are some regulars who are hardly ever here anymore. :( Oh well.

9. I watched it and I did not hear it the way
it is being referenced, but it was two days ago, so it's not fresh in my mind anymore. I do recall a split second reaction that this could be quoted out of context and made into a story, but it made sense to me at the time. His comments didn't sound like they were careless or off-the-cuff. I took it as a well thought out response, that reflected the administration's position, not a Biden side note.

6. I saw some of that underway and didn't have the energy to respond.
Don't spend a whole lotta time here lately and happier for it.

10. There was another one on the same subject
I just moved past it to something else. Not going to waste my time defending something that will be forgotten in a day or two. Hey we have a pop star memorial to focus on today and god knows what the top story will be tomorrow.

7. I didn't hear a word about this on cable news today.
Couldn't be that some DUers were overreacting?

I did hear Biden's comments on the economy mentioned, however.

8. Maybe overreacting,
but I heard the same from a good friend; don't know where he had heard it from. "Nuance" gets us every time.
