Stay Tuned - Biden's life is about to change |
|
The Parlimentarian of the Senate was on The Daily Rundown and said - It is up to the Parlimentarian of the Senate if HCR can go thru Reconcilition....
BUT it is the final decision of the PRESIDENT of the Senate.
Well Joe - you always wanted to be President...just maybe not on something as controversial as this...
wow...

2. Yep, all eyes will be on Joe -- of course he'll have to vote how Obama tells |
|
him to. I know that if it were Joe alone, he'd do it -- I THINK Obama will go for it, don't you guys?

I would like to believe that this is what he wanted all along.

4. I'd like to believe that, too, but I don't give him THAT much credit -- that this |
|
entire exercise was part of a very slick strategy. Is that what you mean?
I think ideally he'd love single payer but knew that would be a no-go, so started strongly talking about supporting a public option, then kept getting beaten down. I think he was willing to take what he could, to get SOMETHING done, because as Ted Kennedy said, once we pass it, then we can fix it -- that approach.
However, I think the unbelievable behavior of the Republicans and the swelling of the support for PO from the House and the Senate has emboldened him to try again to get a better bill.
This is just yet another situation that has me agog -- I can't believe all the twists and turns it's taken, and how our hopes have been rekindled and dashed almost on a weekly basis. Never would have thought those Sens and Reps would get support for their letter to Reid.
I wonder where it's gonna end...

I really, really want to believe the best, but for me it has become intensely personal, as I'm sure you understand.
I've witnessed my children go through hell and it shouldn't have been that bad. I finally posted my story, brief but hopefully got the point across. The difference between a real public option and private insurance was startling. I found it particularly disconcerting that I was better off when I was categorized as "indigent" than when I had United Healthcare. There is something seriously wrong with our healthcare system.

6. You were probably better off as "indigent" because they knew they wouldn't have |
|
to be fighting with the insurance companies, and they would either get their money from a SINGLE PAYER, or write it off. That's my take on it, anyway.
We don't HAVE a healthcare system -- that's our problem. We have a health insurance system, which is focused on profit, not on Health Care.
Agree, it's SERIOUSLY wrong. :(

that was the case. The doctors were able to just be doctors and didn't have to worry about fighting with an insurance company over every procedure. They also knew that eventually they would get paid, probably better than with the insurance company who negotiated all the charges way, way down.
